Bastian Schweinsteiger, born on 1 August 1984 in Kolbermoor, is a former German professional footballer. He played successfully for FC Bayern Munich for a total of 17 years. He won numerous titles with FC Bayern, including 8 times German Champion, 7 times German Cup Winner and 2 times German Supercup Winner. The UEFA Champions League victory and the first triple in the club's history remain unforgotten. In 2015, he sought a new challenge at Manchester United, where he won the FA Cup in 2016. In 2017, Bastian moved to Chicago Fire, where he took part in the MLS All-Star Game twice. He played for the German national team from 2004 to 2016 and became world champion with the team in Brazil in 2014. After the 2014 World Cup, Bastian became captain of the German national team. In 2016, he married the former world number one tennis player Ana Ivanović. He ended his professional football career in October 2019. He is a football expert for ARD since 2020.
